Your money, your account
UnitTally integrates with Stripe Connect Standard. All card payments are charged directly on your organization's own merchant account.
- Funds never held: We never touch or hold your money. Payouts land directly in your connected bank account.
- Merchant control: You own your Stripe credentials, statements, and refund permissions.
- US only: Available for US-based booster clubs, PTAs, and youth teams. A US bank account is required only to accept online card payments.
Capped, per-transaction fees
We operate on a capped per-transaction rate. There are no platform tipping prompts or default fees forced on your supporters.
- No tipping prompts: We never prompt your supporters to "tip" the software during checkout.
- Capped fees: Large transactions (sponsorships, donations) are protected by a hard platform-fee cap ($20 Free / $10 Plus / $5 Pro). Stripe's processing fee is a separate pass-through.
- "Cover the fees" is disclosed, not hidden: The optional, off-by-default checkbox covers UnitTally's platform fee plus an estimate of Stripe's processing fee — checkout shows the exact breakdown before your supporter pays. Because Stripe's real fee varies by card, your group may net a few cents above or below the listed price, and any gap settles to you, not to UnitTally.
Child safety & COPPA-conscious design
UnitTally is built to be COPPA-conscious, protecting under-13 youth members who participate in group fundraisers.
- No public profiles: We do not publish searchable profiles, photos, or full names of kids online.
- Anonymous attribution: Sellers share an anonymous link (
/m/{token}) that tracks credit without exposing the seller's identity.
Data portability & ownership
You own your records. Export everything at any time — nothing is auto-deleted, so you can meet your own IRS recordkeeping obligations.
- Field-level PII encryption: Buyer contact details, member emails, and organization Tax IDs (EINs) are encrypted at rest using AES-GCM-256 with key rotation and blind indexes.
- CSV exports: Download your entire reconciliation ledger, order lists, and parent rosters at any time.
- Tax receipts: For organizations that mark themselves tax-exempt, donation receipts include IRS Pub 1771 acknowledgment language; product purchases are itemized separately as non-deductible.
