Whose EIN do we use for the bank connection?
It depends on how your unit is registered, and council rules vary. A Scouting America unit usually uses its chartered organization’s EIN with permission, or applies for its own with IRS Form SS-4 if the chartered organization won’t allow it. A council-registered unit or a Girl Scout troop uses its council’s EIN. Never use a volunteer’s personal Social Security number.
