About UnitTally
Built by a volunteer treasurer.
UnitTally was founded by Shawn Carr, a parent volunteer who has served as the treasurer for multiple organizations. Like every volunteer treasurer, he earns nothing for his time, and he watched traditional platforms take a large, percentage-based cut of wreath sales, fun runs, and sponsorships.
The UnitTally philosophy
Fundraising software should be a utility, not a partner in your gross revenue. When a parent volunteer spends dozens of hours organizing a concession stand or distributing holiday wreaths, the software provider shouldn't take a growing cut of every cookie or candle sold.
Our platform is built around three core commitments to booster clubs, PTAs, and youth organizations:
- Capped per-transaction fees: A $1,000 corporate banner sponsorship costs your club a maximum of $20 in platform fees.
- Roster-first logistics: Tracking individual sales is built in. Every scout, student, and athlete gets an automatic attribution URL, so treasurers don't spend hours doing VLOOKUPs across spreadsheets.
- Child-safe by design: We never create public rosters, searchable child directories, or child user profiles. Parents are sent private share links and remain the single point of contact — a COPPA-conscious approach to youth data.
