What UnitTally does for youth sports fundraising
Save on registration fees
If a player registration is $150, standard fundraising sites keep up to $30 of it. UnitTally's capped platform fees keep your money going directly to field rentals, referees, and safety gear.
Unified multi-item cart
Parents currently make separate checkouts for registration, jerseys, and team sponsorships. UnitTally's store lets supporters buy items from multiple campaigns in a single checkout.
Reconcile cash & card in one ledger
Between organizing practices and managing coaches, board members don't have time to chase cash deposits. Track all manual cash/check handoffs and online card payments in a single shared ledger.
How a season runs on UnitTally
Registration opens
Set up player registration with the variants and fields a season needs — age divisions, jersey sizes, and custom text for player names and numbers. Parents check out by card, or your treasurer records a cash or check payment at a $0 platform fee. Every registration lands in the league ledger as it comes in.
Team store and spirit wear
Open a store for hoodies, hats, and warm-ups. Each player gets a private attribution link, so when their family and friends buy, the sale credits to that player automatically — no end-of-season spreadsheet to work out who sold what.
Sponsor banners
Sell field and fence banner sponsorships to local businesses. When a sponsor pays by card, the platform fee caps at $20 per transaction, so a large sponsorship is not reduced by a percentage cut; a sponsor who pays by check carries a $0 platform fee. Log the sponsorship and send an itemized confirmation for the business's records.
Game-day concessions
On game day, concession coordinators log cash sales from their phones. Inventory updates immediately and the deposit records straight into the same league ledger, so card and cash reconcile in one place rather than after the fact.
At season's end, every campaign — registrations, store sales, sponsorships, and concessions — sits in one ledger, backed by a full append-only audit trail you can export as a CSV for the incoming board.
The league registration
Suppose your youth soccer league charges a player registration fee of $150.00. A take-rate platform charging 20% would take $30.00 from every registration.
With UnitTally's capped per-transaction fee (on our Free plan), your group keeps $141.30 after Stripe's standard card processing. That keeps an extra $21.30 per player in your league budget to cover field maintenance and uniform costs.
| Platform | Fee | Your Org Keeps |
|---|---|---|
| 20% platform | $30.00 | $120.00 |
| UnitTally Free plan (card + Stripe) | $8.70* | $141.30 |
| UnitTally Free plan (cash/check) | $0.00 | $150.00 |
Frequently asked questions
Can we collect uniform sizes during registration?
Yes. You can set up registration products with custom variants (such as Youth Small, Adult Large) or custom text fields so parents can enter player names and jersey numbers during checkout.
How do we handle concession stand cash reconciliation?
Your concession coordinators can log cash sales directly from their phones during game day. This updates inventory immediately and automatically records the deposit in the league ledger.
Does UnitTally support registration payment plans?
UnitTally supports flat-rate registration checkouts. For multi-installment plans, parents can check out using credit cards, and your treasurer can track custom manual installment credits in the player's balance.
