1. Information We Collect

Account & profile information: We collect names, emails, and phone numbers when administrators register an organization.

Transaction records: We store order details (amount, products purchased, customer name, email, and fulfillment choices) to generate reconciliation reports. Card credentials are processed securely by Stripe; we never store your credit card numbers.

2. Child Privacy & COPPA Compliance

UnitTally is designed to comply with the Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA).

• No direct collection: We never collect personal information directly from children under 13. Children do not register accounts, create credentials, or input data.
• Roster & member data: To track fundraising progress, organization administrators or parents may record member names (which may include minors) and flag minor status. This data is provided by the organization or parent, not the child.
• No public profiles: We do not create public, searchable profiles or display full names of youth sellers publicly.
• Anonymous public attribution: When sharing fundraising campaigns publicly, members use anonymous attribution tokens (/m/{token}) which track credit without exposing the child's identity to the public.

3. How We Use Information

We use collected information strictly to:

• Deliver, operate, and maintain our services.
• Provide reconciliation ledgers and attribution lists to group treasurers.
• Send transactional emails (order confirmations, payout alerts).
• Fulfill legal requirements and verify organization legitimacy.

We do not sell, rent, or trade your data to third-party advertisers.

4. Data Portability & Retention

Administrators can export organization rosters, transactions, and ledgers to CSV at any time. If you choose to delete your organization, deleted data is recoverable for 30 days, after which it is purged — except records we are required to retain to meet our own legal, tax, and audit obligations. You remain responsible for keeping your own copies to meet your IRS recordkeeping requirements.
