How fundraiser fees actually work
Most fundraising platforms cost your group in one of three ways. A take-rate platform keeps a percentage of every sale — often 20% to 30% — so a bigger fundraiser costs you more. A flat-fee platform charges a fixed per-transaction amount. A zero-fee platform is free to your group but funds itself by prompting your supporters to tip at checkout. UnitTally charges one disclosed, capped per-transaction fee and never prompts supporters to tip.

Two costs apply to online card sales: Stripe's standard processing fee (~2.9% + 30¢, charged by Stripe, not UnitTally) and UnitTally's platform fee (2.5% + 30¢ on Free, capped at $20 per transaction).
